As a self taught watercolour artist, I understand the struggles you may be going through. You think to yourself, my work isn’t good enough to show, can I even sell my work, what should I charge and how to even start.

I am an Atlantic Canadian who took up watercolour painting about 7 years ago, but I have only been seriously painting for the past 4 years.

In the beginning my paintings were not that great, very beginner and amateurish looking. I watched a lot if online videos, invested in some better quality paints and paper, and with a bit more practice my work became sellable.

I joined our local art club, brought in a few paintings to display and within a few months made my first sale.

I still struggle, trying to decide what to paint. I paint whatever peeks my interest at the time but always wonder if anyone will like it.

Recently another art club member mentioned Surface Pattern Design to me. She though my style pf painting might be a good fit for that industry. I did some research on the topic and have decided to test the waters. Looking forward to seeing how these will mesh together.

I am an Atlantic Canadian at heart. I love the feel of the ocean breeze and the sand under my feet. I try to invoke these same feelings in my designs and to reflect my love of the Maritimes and all the things that make living here special.

Maritime Living, That’s my Inspiration

Living in the Maritime Region of Canada my whole life has inspired my paintings and designs to reflect that coastal feeling. The views range from coastal rock cliffs to tranquil sandy beaches, from urban cityscapes to wide open farmers fields and expansive forested areas. The Canadian Maritimes experience all 4 seasons in full glory, showing off some of the most amazing fall colours.
